Elizabeth Buchanan, Richard Demirjian and Michael Reinsdorf Join Board of Directors

New members represent NielsenIQ, TCCI Manufacturing and the Chicago Bulls in efforts to attract jobs and investment to Illinois
Intersect Illinois today announced that Elizabeth Buchanan, President of North American business for NielsenIQ, Richard Demirjian, President of TCCI Manufacturing, and Michael Reinsdorf, President and CEO of the Chicago Bulls, have joined its board of directors. With a wealth of experience in Illinois’ civic and business communities, these new board members will help enhance Intersect Illinois’ efforts to attract more economic opportunity to the state.
“NielsenIQ, TCCI and the Chicago Bulls are representative of the diverse industries that thrive in Illinois and this diversity makes our state – and our board of directors – unique,” said Intersect Illinois Chairman John Atkinson. “I am excited to welcome Liz, Richard, and Michael to our board, where they will advise us on business attraction and will officially become ambassadors for the state’s thriving business community.”
ELIZABETH BUCHANAN is the President of North American business for NielsenIQ, where she is accountable for the U.S. and Canadian markets. During her 17 years at NIQ, Buchanan has held various leadership roles in customer success, sales, product development and technology deployment. Most recently, she oversaw NIQ’s customer-facing analytics and servicing teams around the world and led the successful rollout of the NIQ self-serve analytics platform across 85 countries. Buchanan has worked extensively across the U.S. and global markets, serves on numerous boards, and is an active champion for many civic causes.
“NielsenIQ was founded as one of the first ‘big data’ companies in Illinois over 100 years ago and I am honored to give back to the state by joining Intersect Illinois’ board of directors,” said Buchanan. “The consumer goods and retail industries NIQ serves are deeply rooted in Illinois and play a vital role in the daily lives of Illinoisans; I am excited to help advance development in these sectors as a part of Intersect Illinois’ board.”
RICHARD DEMIRJIAN is President of TCCI Manufacturing, a global pioneer of compressor technology for commercial, heavy-duty vehicle and automotive specialty markets. With a footprint that spans 10 countries, TCCI is headquartered in Decatur and delivers innovative product solutions that transform U.S. manufacturing and drive the industry toward a more sustainable future. Demirjian has worked for more than 35 years in the business, driving sales growth, global expansion and advancements in new products and technology. Under his leadership, TCCI sets a corporate purpose to unite different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives while delivering sustainable solutions that make a global impact and support customer efforts on the road to zero emissions.

MICHAEL REINSDORF serves as the President and CEO of the Chicago Bulls and is an NBA Governor, actively participating on the NBA Media and Planning Committees. As a prominent member of the Commercial Club of Chicago and The Economic Club of Chicago, Reinsdorf is deeply engaged in the city’s business and civic communities. He also holds board positions in several civic and philanthropic organizations. In addition, he is a member of the University of Chicago Crime Lab Investor’s Council, which works to understand and reduce crime and violence in collaboration with government agencies and non-profit organizations.

Intersect Illinois has added more than 20 new members to its board since the end of last year. A non-partisan group of civic and private-sector leaders, Intersect Illinois’ board is dedicated to bringing economic growth and jobs to Illinois, advising the organization on ways to make the state even more attractive for business attraction. Leaders are recommended for the board to represent a diversity of regions, industries, and backgrounds. All members are approved by a board vote.
As the state’s business attraction organization, Intersect Illinois collaborates with partners in the public and private sectors to attract new jobs and investment. The organization showcases the state’s advantages including its central location with access to the country and world, its unmatched infrastructure, and its robust workforce fueled by its dynamic higher education system.
